TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Indiana State Sycamores have three players in the NFL. Robert Tonyan, Dominique Dafney, and Jonas Griffith.
Tonyan and Dafney have left their mark on the Green Bay Packers and now Griffith looks to do the same with the Denver Broncos.
Head Coach Curt Mallory says, “I was so happy to hear that. Thought it may happen, but to see Robert, Dom, and Jonas land and make the 53-man roster, I know our guys were thrilled to death to see that and I’m just so happy for those guys and so happy for our program.”
Defensive Coordinator Brad Wilson says, “All three have unique stories whether it’s Rob, Dom, or Jonas. They all showed perseverance from where they started to where they are now and it’s an opportunity for our guys to understand the importance of the process and staying with it and trusting it. Controlling what you can control and understanding that effort and being a good person will be rewarded.”
“I think that’s what you are seeing with all three of those guys and just very happy for all three of them. Wish them the most success and tremendous examples of Indiana State and Indiana State Football.”
The NFL season begins for all three of them on September 12th.
