Sullivan wins first softball regional since 1992

SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Sullivan Lady Arrows win their first softball regional since 1992. The Arrows beat Evansville Mater Dei, 4-2 Tuesday night to advance to semi-state.

Avery Wiltermood says, “I know it’s crazy. I don’t even know what to say right now. Adrenaline it’s so fun. I love these girls and playing with them is a dream.

Kendal Edmondson says, “It’s just insane. I think everyone is in shock. I knew everyone thought we would do good this year, but I don’t think we would make it this far.”

Delainey Shorter says, “There’s so many people here I was so shocked when I saw everybody out here to support us. It means a lot for everyone who came out tonight.”

Gracie Shorter says, “We all gel. We have no problems. There’s no drama. We are all very close and I think we are a family.”

Lela Earley says, “I’m just really proud of the heart they played with and the determined they played with and they played together as a group and I feel like we played all parts of the game.”
