SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Sullivan Golden Arrows will play Homestead Friday at noon in the state tennis finals. They are 25-0 on the season and looking to advance to Saturday’s final four.
Hanna Burkhart says,”I think it does. Just kind of being in the same similar setting it helps with the nerves and I’m happy we are going to be able to come back here yeah.”
Peyton Sisil: “It’s crazy to graduate and to still be undefeated coming out of semi state it’s nothing I ever expected.”
Annie Smith says, “It’s amazing. I knew we would have a pretty good season. We have a lot of really good players, but I never imagined we would do this well.”
Courtney Lueking says, “Crazy just to know we are doing this for Sullivan and it’s the first time in program history it’s just crazy.”
Lexie Baker says,”Yeah I don’t think any of us ever dreamed of 25-0 looking at the start of the season, but now that it’s here now that we are doing it I could not be any prouder of my team and our community support has been tremendous.”
Wes Kirk says, “We are a deep team so every match I feel like we have good opportunities to win. That’s a great starting point. We are an athletic team. We move well and work hard. That gives you a fighting chance and you hope you get good cards. Within the first 20 minutes, we always look and hope we get good cards. We’ve got a lot of good cards this year. I hope our luck will stay strong.”>>
