South Vermillion wins first Regional Championship


Clinton, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The South Vermillion Wildcats clinched the school’s first ever softball Regional Championship with a 3-1 victory over Speedway on Tuesday evening.  Regan Godfrey was outstanding.  The senior pitcher was in command throughout the game.  She secured the complete game victory with only one run allowed.

The Wildcats scored all their runs in the first inning.  Hailey Boardman picked up the first RBI to make it 1-0.  Kyra Fellows and Allison Schawitsch added two more runs to pad the lead to 3-0.  Following the victory the Clinton Fire and Police departments provided an escort through town.  Next up the Wildcats take on Tecumseh at Forest Park on Saturday at 1 pm.
