TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Terre Haute South Braves won the boys and girls portions of the Vigo County swim meet on Thursday evening at the Aquatic Center. The Braves girls totaled 124 points while North had 117 and West Vigo finished with 68. Haley Sakbun won four races including the 500 free.
On the boys side the Braves finished with 143 points to 117 for North while West Vigo had 52 points. The Braves Christopher Chow won the 50 and 100 free events. It’s the first time the boys and girls have both won under head coach Emily Marrs. Sakbun said it was a great win for South. “So happy to be a part of the team that did that and again like they just came every single day and worked their butts off and they did great,” she said.
Added head coach Emily Marrs: “North South meet always brings out the competitive side of everyone and they used that energy and they were able to post some personal bests some season bests and win some big races tonight,” she said.
