MOORESVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Shakamak Lakers won its eighth semi-state championship in school history Saturday, knocking off Borden 11-1 in 6 innings.
“It’s a dream come true,” pitcher Peyton Yeryar said. “It’s insane. The amount of work we’ve put in has paid off.”
The Lakers will play Washington Township for the Class A State Championship at 5 p.m. Monday, June 21, at Victory Field in Indianapolis.
“That’s been the goal all year,” catcher Oscar Pegg said. “It’s nice we are capitalizing. If we can finish the job I will be happy.”
