WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)

The Wabash Valley’s best golfers swing away at the Washington Regional Thursday at Country Oaks. Justin Hopkins led all Valley players with a 76. Terre Haute North’s Andrew Granda shoots a 78. Washington’s Zach Gray comes in with a 80. Northview’s Ben Goshen with an 82. South Knox’s Coleton Hostetler finishes with an 85.

Justin Hopkins says,”I played very good through the first 12 holes. Then I got to 15 or 16 and I just fell apart a little bit, but had to hang in there some.”

Andrew Granda says,”I just want to thank the guys for a nice four years of memories and both of my coaches for all the work they’ve put in for me. Like to thank them for never giving up on me.”

Zach Gray says,”It’s a great experience now moving forward I know what to expect. I still have two years so hopefully I will be here the next two years and advance. This is great experience. I know what I’m doing.”

Ben Goshen says,”Looking forward to coming back. I had high expectations, but I didn’t meet them. Glad I have two more years here.”

Coleton Hostetler says,”I came in you know, didn’t really expect to advance. If I did great, if I didn’t, I gave it all I had. It was a good time. Glad that I stuck with it all four years and proud to be a Spartan.”

Evansville North wins the regional with a 297. Castle comes in second with 301. Plainfield third with a 307.
