TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Rose-Hulman football team clinched the HCAC title on Saturday with a 58-21 victory over Mount St. Joseph at Cook Stadium.
This is the 13th conference title in school history. With the victory, the Engineers return to the NCAA Division III playoffs for the first time since 2016. They will learn of their playoff destination at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Andrew Dion finished 19 of 30 for 353 yards and 3 touchdowns while Shane Welshans rushed for 113 yards and 3 scores. Receiver Daniel Huery had 5 receptions for 164 yards and a touchdown.
Noah Thomas became the career school record holder for touchdown receptions with 36 and had 8 receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
