TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Rose-Hulman football team held their first practice on Thursday night before the season begins on September 4th. Head coach Jeff Sokol enters his 11th season in charge of the program. Andrew Dion returns at quarterback, overall the offense has four starters back but will need to replace the entire offensive line. Running back Shane Welshans is a pre-season All American by Lindy’s Sports College Football Preview. Joining him as a pre-season All American is linebacker Michael Stevens.

Here’s coach Sokol about playing so soon after the spring. “Yeah it’s awesome I mean we love playing football we got to play football five months ago and we’re playing football today so life is good. We lose our whole O line six of our best O linemen graduated last year so that’s a huge question we need to answer in camp this year is getting that all sorted out we’ve got some really good candidates to take their place,” Sokol said. The season opener is September 4th at home against Wabash College.
