TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Former Indiana State athletic director Ron Prettyman was announced Thursday as interim athletic director at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
Prettyman has nearly 40 years of experience working in collegiate athletics. He served as AD at ISU from 2005 to 2015 and worked at Cal State Dominguez Hills and Vanguard University before that.
“It is with great anticipation that I join the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and Pomeroy athletics family,” Prettyman said. “The vision that has been presented by President Dottie King and Brennan Randolph is exciting.“
Most recently, Prettyman was the interim athletic director at California Baptist University. He will start in his new role July 1.
“The future is bright for Pomeroy athletics,” he said Thursday.
Prettyman led ISU to six separate NCAA Tournament appearances with five different sports during his tenure. Upon leaving, he became the managing director of championships and alliances for the NCAA. From there he became vice president at Snodgrass Partners, Inc., an executive search and consulting firm, where he assisted in placing executives in various athletics related roles across the country.
“I also want to thank Deanna Bradley for her many years of leadership in Pomeroy athletics,” Prettyman said. “During this historic transition to NAIA competition, Pomeroy athletics will continue to serve the Wabash Valley and beyond as a quality academic and athletic institution.”
