Rex hold on to beat Danville


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Outfielder Alec Brunson made a game saving catch Saturday night for the Terre Haute Rex to ensure a 4-3 victory over Danville.

Brunson also hit a two run homerun in the 1st inning for the first runs of the game. Outfielder Jack Leverenz also homered.

Shortstop and second baseman Colter Couillard-Rodak had an RBI double for the Rex, who improve to 13-19 on the season. Pitcher Cole Grilley was good on the mound, going five and a third innings with 9 strike outs and just one earned run.

For their next game the Rex will continue a home stand on Sunday with a doubleheader against Lafayette. Game 1 is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
