North Vermillion preps for football opener

Sports

CAYUGA, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The North Vermillion Falcons were the only team from the Wabash Valley to advance to the state title game last season. This year they are looking for another deep playoff run, and will turn to veteran leaders like quarterback Brennan Ellis to lead the way. Ellis is dealing with an upper body injury and says he hopes to be back in time for the season opener at Owen Valley.

In the meantime coach Brian Crabtree is using running back Wyatt Reynolds in Ellis’ place. “Brennan is a good leader for us, Brennan does a great job running the offense he’s spent a lot of time this offseason you know working at camps and different things. I like running Wyatt maybe a little more than I do Brennan even because Wyatt is a natural running back,” Crabtree said. They kick off the season on August 23 at Owen Valley at 7 pm.
