ST. LOUIS, MO. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Missouri Valley Conference held their annual basketball media day at the Missouri Athletic Club on Tuesday. Indiana State was represented by head coach Greg Lansing, senior Jordan Barnes, junior Tyreke Key and women’s head coach Vicki Hall.

“Our goal is to win Arch Madness. We are not settling for anything less. I’m proud of this team. I feel like we have a lot to prove this year,” Barnes said.

Tyreke Key added, “I mean it would mean a lot. That’s the plan this year. It’s always going to be the plan. We have the talent to do it. We have to stay consistent with what we are doing right now and it will pay off,” he said.

“We have high expectations. That’s always going to be the goal. Right now you aren’t winning any tournament games. We have to be much more consistent and just keep getting better so when you come down here you have a chance,” Lansing said.

On the women’s side, Vicki Hall begins year number two with a complete roster overhaul that’s full of her players who are buying in. “We’ve seen a lot of progress and we put the foundation in on our defense. Started implementing everything offensively as well and just now trying to get practiced up and ready for our first game,” she said.

Hall, Lansing and the Sycamores will not be inside Hulman Center until November 30th and December 3rd due to the renovations so plenty of road tests for these Trees with Trips to Kansas and Louisville planned. Preseason conference predictions will not come out until another couple of weeks.
