Miners win opener, honor Madi Moore

LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Linton Miners knocked off White River Valley, 3-0 Wednesday night on the volleyball court.

Volleyball wasn’t the only thing on the Miners’ minds as they honored Madi Moore and will do so throughout the season.

Head coach Scott Vanderkolk says,”We wore the orange last year when Madi was still fighting her fight. This year, that’s our team color now. She’s a heck of a kid that you loved having around whether it was volleyball or in the classroom or out in the community.

She’s who we want our daughters to be like, she’s who we want all of our volleyball players to be like so to have a night where we can just honor her and play the game and share her message. We have the rest of the season. We are going to keep sharing her message and it’s going to get throughout the whole state, beyond what it already is.”
