Terre Haute, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Indiana State men’s and women’s basketball teams took part in an exhibition at the Hulman Center on Thursday evening. Fans attending games this season will notice a new video board, which will provide replays in crystal clarity. There are also new ribbon boards between the upper and lower decks. Xavier Bledson says it was fun to take part in the event.

“It’s always good to just go out and do things for the community I would say just bringing more people to get more involved with us and just going out there and having fun with each other and today that’s all today was about just going out there enjoying each other enjoying the fans and bringing everyone together,” he said.

Added head coach Josh Schertz: “This is the deepest you know team I’ve ever coached and it’s going to be challenging for me on a night in night out basis to figure out you know kind of where we need to go and like I said I think we learned a lot of hard lessons last year hopefully we’ll be able to take them forward and be better for them coming into this season,” he said.

Meanwhile women’s coach Chad Killinger says his team learned some hard lessons last season. “Talk about if we learned anything from last year that might be one thing just our approach a little bit defensively at times has to be a little bit better but today I told them like if you’ve got a chance to go make a play and get a steal go make a play like have fun be aggressive we’ll learn to scramble and make up for some of those mistakes now we can’t do that all the time but understanding situations we want to be the more aggressive team,” he said.
