INDIANAPOLIS (WTWO/WAWV) – Terre Haute native Tim Herrin made a return to the area this week, pitching with the Columbus Clippers at Victory Field in Indianapolis They are the Triple A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. Herrin was called up to Columbus on May 24th from Akron of Double A. His velocity has gone up every season in the minor leagues, hitting 98 mph on the radar gun.

Herrin says reaching this stage of professional baseball has been a goal of his. “It’s been kind of a whirlwind it’s been a lot of fun the last three weeks here. Yeah I came into this season my goal was obviously to make it to the highest level I possibly could starting in Double A I wanted to get here to Triple A I didn’t think it would be this soon but I’m ecstatic about it,” Herrin said. The Clippers series with Indianapolis continues through Sunday at Victory Field in downtown Indianapolis.
