CARBONDALE, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – Indiana State built an early lead and then hung on late in a 74-71 victory over Southern Illinois on Wednesday evening. The Sycamores improve to 9-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Missouri Valley. It’s their best start since the 2014-15 season.

Courvoisier McCauley led the team with 16 points while Cameron Henry had a double double with 15 and 12. Robbie Avila added 12 points and Jayson Kent finished with 10. Trenton Gibson had 9 points for ISU. Up next they continue the four game road trip on Sunday at Southern Indiana at 4 pm ET.
