TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Indiana State Sycamores baseball team beat Illinois State 4 to 3 on Sunday afternoon.
Adam Pottinger’s go-ahead RBI single in the bottom of the 8th ended up being the game winning hit as Jared Spencer struck out the side in the 9th inning to clinch the victory.
The win was Indiana State’s 6th in a row. It is the first time since 2017 that the Sycamores have swept the Redbirds.
Indiana State is now 8-1 in Missouri Valley Conference play, their best start to conference play since 1998.
The Sycamores will hit the road for a five-game road trip starting Tuesday at 6 p.m. vs. Purdue.
