TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Indiana State Sycamores earned the #14 overall seed in the NCAA Baseball Tournament and will welcome Wright State, North Carolina, and Iowa to Terre Haute this weekend for the NCAA Regional.
Indiana State will play Wright State Friday afternoon at 1pm at Bob Warn Field.
North Carolina and Iowa will play each other Friday night at 7pm.
“Seeing the excitement of others that’s when it hits home,” says Mitch Hannahs.
“The first thing I did was ask my wife Amy to pinch me because it just didn’t seem real.”
Connor Fenlong says, “It means everything to this program. We’ve worked for it. We are ready for it and trying to make big things here happen.”
Lane Miller says, “It just goes to show all of the hard work we’ve done in the fall, spring, how far everybody’s come since the 2-8 record to start the year.”
“It’s never easy playing in the postseason, “says Matt Jachec.
“You saw in the conference tournament – we needed everybody. Everybody is going to be ready for their time.”
Grant Magill says, “It’s just the kind of things you dream about. We are given an opportunity to get us on the map and it’s just an awesome feeling.”
Randal Diaz says, “In Terre Haute you don’t see this everyday and now we are going to see it like everyday I’m pretty sure and you love that.”
Tickets will go on sale for the regional Tuesday afternoon at 4pm.
