ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It was a historic night on St. Mary-of-the-Woods campus Friday as the men’s volleyball team competed in its first ever match.

The team, led by Head Coach Ian Harris, features 19 players on its roster.

SMWC faced off against Cornerstone in the inaugural match and fell to the Golden Eagles in three sets.

The men’s volleyball team is the second of two men’s teams added to the Pomeroys’ athletics roster in as many years.

After the second set, the Pomeroys’ sprint football team was honored for its Midwest Spring Football League championship title in its debut season.
