HAMMOND, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Saint Mary of the Woods College Sprint Football team won their first ever game, defeating Calumet College of St. Joseph 34-28 in overtime on Saturday night. Brian Marrell threw the game winner to Andrece Miller in OT for the winning score. Marrell finished with 188 yards passing and three touchdowns.

Marrell relieved Brennon Landry at quarterback after Landry was injured in the 2nd half. Landry finished with 152 yards passing with two touchdowns and 57 yards rushing. Running back Patrick Perea was the first Pomeroy over 100 yards from scrimmage. He had 60 yards rushing and 114 yards receiving including a sideline sprint for a 67 yard TD that helped jumpstart the second half.
