TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Northview Knights win the IHSAA Girls Track & Field Sectional for the first time since 2001 with a team score of 165 Tuesday night.

Junior Ellia Hayes wraps up the evening as a four-time sectional champion and says her team has had this goal from the very beginning.

“We’ve been wanting this for so long and I remember at the beginning of the season saying I think we can win sectionals. I’m so happy that we finally did that and we completed it. It’s super exciting.”

“It means a lot,” says Head Coach James Grounds.

“We have a lot of girls who competed really well today. They put a lot of pride into wearing the uniform today.”

All of the winners will advance to regionals next week.
