TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Girls High School cross country season is off and running after the Valley kick-off varsity meet took place at LaVern Gibson on Saturday.

Northview’s Gnister Grant and Ellia Hayes both racked up top 10 finishes as Grant finished in 6th place and Hayes crossed the line in 9th place.

Linton’s Peyton Smith also finished in the top 15 in 11th place with a time of 20 minutes and 4 hundredths of a second.

Northview and Terre Haute North were the top two local teams finishing in 14th and 12st place at the meet.
