ST. LOUIS (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State running back Plez Lawrence has been named the MVFC Newcomer of the Week.

The redshirt freshman finished with 203 rushing yards on 29 carries and three touchdowns against Murray State. The Kokomo, Ind. native is the first freshman in the MVFC to surpass 200 yards in a game since 2018. He’s also the first ISU running back to crack 200 rushing yards since Dominique Dafney went for 244 yards and four touchdowns in the 2019 against MSU.

The Sycamores are back at Memorial Stadium this weekend when they host #10 Northern Iowa Saturday night at 7pm.
