MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WTWO/WAWV) – Jake LaRavia is ready to go to work for the Memphis Grizzlies. The former Sycamore was selected as the 19th overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft and is excited to join a team that finished with the second-best record in the NBA Western Division.

Jake is also jumping at the chance to play with guys like Ja Morant.

“I think it’s just going to make it easier being able to play with someone of that all-star caliber. Playing off ball and knowing he’s going to have a lot of eyes on him. Just being able to play off him and help him look as good as he is that’s why I’m here, “says LaRavia.

The newest Grizzly will also join forces with another Indiana native, Desmond Bane.

He also says landing in Memphis is a dream scenario.

“I thought I had a good workout with them and good interviews. I talked to the front office before too, but going to the draft everything is a mystery, I didn’t really know what was going to happen and (I’m) super excited that I ended up here.”

The NBA schedule should be released in late August.
