VALPARAISO, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Indiana State Sycamores softball team shut out Valparaiso Sunday by a score of 11-0 in the regular season finale.

The win was Indiana State’s 29th of the season, the second most in program history and the most since the 1989 season.

Annie Tokarek and Isabella Henning hit home runs in the game. Lexi Benko, Lauren Sackett and Cassie Newbanks combined to pitch a 2-hit shutout.

Indiana State will officially be the 5th seed in this week’s Missouri Valley Conference softball tournament in Carbondale, Illinois. They will face 12th seeded Valparaiso Wednesday at 2 p.m. eastern.
