TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – In what is likely to be a signature win of the season, Indiana State defeated Drake 75-73 on Wednesday evening at the Hulman Center. It’s the first loss of the season for the Bulldogs. The Sycamores led by as many as 14 points in the 1st half, but later trailed by five with 3:57 to play. Cam Henry was crucial down the stretch, scoring the final six points as ISU outscored Drake 12-6 in those final four minutes.

Robbie Avila led the team in scoring with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Jayson Kent added 10 points and Courvoisier McCauley had 12 for the Sycamores. For Drake Roman Penn led the way with 32 points while Tucker DeVries finished with 15. DeVries had a chance at the game winner as time expired but his shot hit the front rim.

Prior to the end of the 1st half Cooper Neese appeared to injure his right knee in a collision on a loose ball. He left the game and later returned on crutches. Up next Indiana State improves to 7-1 on the season and goes to Miami Ohio on Saturday at 1 pm.
