TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Terre Haute South will host #3 in 3A Gibson Southern Friday night to kickoff the high school football season.

The Braves showed some big improvements in the jamboree last week, but they know hosting the defending state champions will be a much biggest test.

“That was one thing that we don’t mind doing,” says head coach Tim Herrin.

“They are going to be a good football team. They win 8-10 games a year, they compete for sectional and regional titles every year and it’s a great test for us.”

The Braves know Friday is a big measuring stick.

“We are going to have a team that’s going to play physical. (They are) Going to test us with them throwing and running and defensively playing until the whistle and we need to see that to get ready for conference football.”

Kickoff is set for 7:30pm Friday night at Terre Haute South.
