WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Aaron Clements is back in the Wabash Valley, but this time as a head coach. Clements spent seven years as an assistant under Travis Nolting at North Central, but now is the new face of West Vigo Football.

“The WIC conference is great. It’s good to be a part of it back in the Wabash Valley,” says the first year head coach.

“There haven’t been that many tough adjustments, really,” says West Vigo QB Kaleb Marrs.

“I would say we are all getting the hang of things now. It’s been a lot of work, but it’s been good and we will be ready.”

The Vikings will hit the ground running as they look to start fresh in 2022.

Aaron says,”Just getting kids to understand the terminology is the biggest thing from what they haven’t done in the past.”

“Putting a competitive team on the field that is physical and plays 48 minutes.”

One of those physical players to help the transition happens to be Marrs.

“Hopefully, I will be able to run the ball a little more than I did last year so that should be fun,” says Kaleb.

The Vikings will rely on Marrs and the other seniors as the new season begins.

West Vigo travels to South Vermillion in week one on Friday, August 19th.
