Indiana State Track & Field had a successful first day of the Pacesetter Invite on Friday. Erin Reese won the hammer throw with a toss of 59.29 meters, over 194 feet. Sam Overton won the hammer for the men with a throw of 54.50 meters, over 178 feet. Noah Rogers is in first place in the Decathlon, he leads the field with 3,256 points through five events despite the less-than-favorable conditions on the track and in the field. Rogers was victorious in three of the five events, winning the 100-meter dash at 11.45, the long jump with a mark of 6.72m (22-00.75) and the high jump at 1.91m (6-03.25).
In 2nd place is decathlete Josh Perry with 3,020 after winning the 400 meter dash. Overall the Sycamore men are in 2nd place behind Illinois State (39-24) and the women are also in 2nd behind the Redbirds (35-28).
