TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Indiana State Softball team defeated Loyola Chicago 10-0 in five innings on Sunday afternoon at Price Field. The team’s four seniors talked about what they will miss about playing at the school.

Amanda Guercio: “I just love being a part of the team and it’s going to be really really difficult next year and for the rest of my life to not be anymore that’s probably what I’m going to miss the most but it is very surreal that I’m finally here and it’s finally my senior day,” she said.

Added Bella Peterson: “I think our win against Wisconsin in 2020 a lot of people say that but that was one of the best games ever it felt like we were at the World Series everybody is cheering and you get chills on that 3rd out it was just amazing,” she said.

For Lexie Siwek another memory came to mind. “A time when the whole team was together and we were all dancing and singing to Taylor Swift was the whole team it was so fun. Story of Us that was it Story of Us there we go,” she said.

Grace Hunger added a home run in the home finale and will remember this weekend. “I think now it’s this weekend it was just we lost one game which was unfortunate but the under classmen did so much for us and made the senior weekend really great for us four so,” she said.

Added head coach Mike Perniciaro: “Oh it’s fantastic what a great group of young ladies you know they’re great on the field they’re great off the field great in the class room so you know I have a lot of honor to represent them on the field,” he said.
