The Indiana State Sycamores routed the Butler Bulldogs on Tuesday night 11-4. The teams played at Victory Field in downtown Indianapolis. ISU used a seven run third inning to pull away. The win was the 13th-straight for the Sycamores over the Bulldogs. ISU improves to 22-19 on the season.
Clay Dungan tied a career high with five base hits and three RBI’s. Luke Fegen added three hits and two RBI. The Sycamores also got two hits each from Jarrod Watkins, Dane Giesler and CJ Huntley.
The Sycamores tied a season high with 17 base hits while Butler (27-13) was held to six. Indiana State stranded 13 runners on base while the Bulldogs left four on the base paths.
Donnie Ames picked up the win and Ethan Larrison recorded his ninth save of the season. The Sycamores continue Missouri Valley Conference play this weekend with a trip to Southern Illinois to take on the Salukis.
