TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Indiana State Sycamore Golf team finished 4th after Day 2 of the ISU Invitational at the Country Club of Terre Haute. Sophomore Chelsea Morrow finished tied for 8th place at 7 over par with rounds of 74 and 77. Junior Lauren Green was tied for 13th place at 10 over with rounds of 78 and 76.
Junior Madison Branum finished tied for 18th place while Iyoun Chew shot a career-best 159 (80-79) that was eight strokes better than her previous best. Sophomore Kristen Hobbs matched Chew’s 159, finishing Monday’s round with an 83.
Indiana State (617) finished the ISU Invitational in 4th place behind only Northern Iowa (597), Green Bay (602), and Butler (604). Northern Iowa’s Hannah Bermel was the medalist for the event as the only player to finish below par (-1). The next time Indiana State hits the links for competition will be at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships, April 18-20 in St. Louis. The Rose-Hulman women finished in 8th place with a team score of 679.
