TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Indiana State football evened up their record at 2-2 with a 16-6 victory over Eastern Illinois on Saturday afternoon. The Sycamores lost starting quarterback Ryan Boyle early in the game to a left knee injury. His status will be re-evaluated following tests in the coming days. Kurtis Wilderman stepped in for Boyle and threw for 186 yards, including a 69 yard touchdown to Rontrez Morgan.
Defensively the Sycamores were dominant, holding the Panthers to 200 yards of total offense. They also forced four turnovers on the day. Jonas Griffith led the way with 12 tackles and Clayton Glasco had 9. On special teams Jerry Nunez made three field goals as the Sycamores head into their bye week. They’re back in action on October 5th at South Dakota.
