TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Indiana State baseball is heading to the NCAA Tournament. The Sycamores make it back to back appearances for the first time since 1986-87. They will take on Georgia Tech at 1 pm at Vanderbilt. Head coach Mitch Hannahs says he’s looking forward to playoff baseball. “Their club is a lot different than they were in 19 and so are we. We know Georgia Tech that initial test is going to be a very good test for us coming out of the ACC. For us, it really doesn’t matter who we play – you have to play really well if you are going to keep advancing so we have to get back to work and get ready to play,” he said.
Added pitcher Geremy Guerrero: “Few guys were surprised. Some of us weren’t. I turned to Austin Cross when the Vandy Regional popped up and kinda smirked and said we are going to go here, low and behold we did. We were there in 19 and like you said we have some unfinished business there.”
