TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Indiana State Sycamores completed a four game series sweep over Valparaiso on Sunday afternoon with a 12-1 victory in 7 innings. Ellison Hanna and Max Wright both hit home runs for the Sycamores. The blast was the team leading 8th of the season for Wright. Hanna was 3 for 3 with four RBI’s. Aaron Beck had a tremendous weekend going 12 for 14 with 9 RBI’s in the four games combined. ISU improves to 20-8 on the season and goes to Dallas Baptist next weekend for a four game series. Head coach Mitch Hannahs likes the way his team is progressing this spring.

“I thought we played well, I thought we pitched it pretty well we picked it up well we swung it off and on well all weekend pretty well today so I think for the most part pretty pleased with the way we played all weekend we talk about it all the time the job of a college baseball team is to get better all the way to the final stretch and hopefully you’re playing your best baseball at that point,” he said.

Beck has been clutch since joining the lineup against Illinois State. He says his approach is to keep it simple at the plate. “I mean I’ve just been working hard to put in countless hours in the indoor working on my swing and trying to perfect the craft and coach Hannahs says get better one percent everyday and that’s just what I’ve been trying to do,” Beck said.
