Indiana State opened up the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in Saint Louis with a play-in game against Evansville.
But, much like several previous games, the Sycamores had a slow first half start and were unable to mount a comeback, falling 83-72.
The Trees went into the locker room at the midway point, down 44-25.
ISU made it interesting down the stretch, but it was too little too late as the Purple Aces ended ISU’s season.
The 2016-2017 season ends with a 11-20 record, their worst finish since 2005.
