Indiana State wins on Homecoming


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Quarterback Anthony Thompson and running back Peterson Kerlegrand each had two touchdowns for Indiana State in a 28-17 Homecoming victory over Youngstown State on Saturday. Thompson was 13 of 21 for 156 yards passing and rushed for 63 yards for ISU. Kerlegrand had 151 rushing yards and the two scores, the second was a 53 yard burst in the 4th quarter to help put the game away.

The defense was very good in the 2nd half, accounting for four turnovers after the intermission. JJ Henderson had two interception and Ethan Hoover and Omar Jackson also had picks for the Sycamore defense. Henderson became the second Sycamore with a two-interception game on the year joining Michael Thomas (Aug. 28 vs. Eastern Illinois). ISU improves to 4-4 and goes to North Dakota State next Saturday at 3:30 ET.
