TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Former Indiana State pitcher Geremy Guerrero signed a contract with the Houston Astros over the weekend. He is heading to the team facility in West Palm Beach, Florida to begin training for the remainder of the year.
The 2021 Missouri Valley Pitcher of the Year posted a record of 10-1 record and 2.08 ERA that season. Over his career he was 12-4 in 26 starts with a 3.49 ERA and had 166 strikeouts. “I’m extremely honored the Astros organization has given the opportunity to get back out there,” Guerrero said. “It still feels like a dream and for parts of last week, it definitely did not feel real. I’m excited to get back at it and get back to work,” he said.
