EUGENE, Ore. (WTWO/WAWV) – Indiana State alum Erin Reese finished 7th in Saturday’s women’s hammer throw at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon. Reese unleashed her best throw in her 3rd attempt, 67.88 meters or more than 222 feet. World champion Deanna Price won the event with a new American record of 80.31 meters, more than 263 feet. She will be joined by Brooke Anderson and Gwen Berry on the discus team at the Tokyo Olympics. The games begin on July 23rd and can be seen locally on WTWO.
