The Indianapolis Colts had their third day of training camp on Saturday. It was the team’s first day in full pads as fans got their first look at the at the 2018 team.
Both sides of the Blue and White will be under scrutiny as the team looks to improve both it’s offensive and defensive schemes under first year head coach Frank Reich. Andrew Luck, who returned to the practice field for the first time since 2016, didn’t throw any passes today.
Defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus says he noticed some execution errors from the team but nothing he didn’t expect on the first day in pads. For some of the veteran players it was a show of physicality they have wanted to see from their teammates like Jack Mewhort. “Everyone was really physical, and obviously watching from the sideline, I was impressed with the way guys grinded through and you know played hard through the whistle, ran around, they were excited to be out here, and it was good to see what I saw from the offensive line, I was proud of what I saw from them, I wish I coulda been out there with them, and I think we have a good foundation going forward through training camp,” he said.
The Colts open the pre season schedule on August 9th at Seattle.
