Barr-Reeve Edges Linton, South Knox Rolls Past Eastern Greene

In perhaps the biggest matchup of sectional play around the Hoosier state, the Barr-Reeve Vikings clashed with the Linton Miners in a classic to open up the Eastern Greene 2A Sectional. It was a low-scoring game by their standards but an entertaining one that ended with Barr-Reeve getting the win over the Miners, 37-34.

Trevor Lengacher and Javan Miller each had 9 points for Barr-Reeve. Linton’s Tyler Meurer poured in 17 points.

Linton’s defeat ends their sectional title run at 4.

In the nightcap from Eastern Greene, the host Thunderbirds took on South Knox. The Spartans jumped ahead early and would not look back, getting the 56-40 victory. Gannon Bobe had 17 points for Sparty.

On Friday, Barr-Reeve will take on Mitchell in the first semi-final matchup at 6pm.

The 7:30pm game features county foes as South Knox plays North Knox.
