AJ Reed Eager to Return to Big Leagues

As AJ Reed begins another year of professional baseball, his season will start in the minors.

The Terre Haute South graduate will once again begin the year with the Fresno Grizzlies, the Houston Astros’s Triple A affiliate.

Reed made his major league debut in June 2016. While with the Astros, he belted 3 home runs and had 8 RBIs.

The move is motivation for the former Brave slugger, who feels his development at the plate has come a long way.

“It’s the big leagues and it’s the best thing in the world so I just got to work hard and when the opportunity comes, I’ve got to take advantage of it. From a mechanical standpoint on my swing, it’s way more efficient than it was last year. That’s going to help me out a lot when I’m up at the box,” Reed said.

The Grizzlies open their season tomorrow night.
