MEROM, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Before the sun sets and the Friday night lights begin, just down the road past the cornfields, there’s a lot of work being put in.
Sullivan senior Jackson Shake says,”It’s really fun because we all get to be here for three days and have a blast really.”
The summer tradition continues in Merom for a unique camp experience.
Head coach Blaine Powell says,”We got 57 kids out here. Working together. You have a lot of new guys and they just get meshed in with the team. You get a chance to just be around each other 24/7 for 3 days and it’s great. I look forward to it all year.”
Shake says,”We are catching on to things really quick.”
Powell says,”We throw as much at them as we can during these 3 days and see what they can pick up. Once we hit practice on the 5th we sift out what looked good, what didn’t and we will go from there.”
Don’t think it’s all football. There’s plenty of fun to be had and snow cones to consume.
Blaine says,”More than anything it is fun. Just being around each other. That’s what this game is all about. That’s what makes it different from any other game. Just the team atmosphere that you have to have to be a good football program and these guys understand that and what’s what we are getting.”
