It’s May in Indiana and all eyes are set on this year’s 101st running of the Indianapolis 500.
But on Wednesday, all eyes were on last year’s Indy 500 winner Alexander Rossi and his champion ring.
IMS President J. Douglas Boles and Ken Keltner of Herff Jones presented Rossi with a special ring to commemorate the 100th running of the greatest spectacle in racing.
“Opening the box I was blown away with how dramatic it is and big it is. I wasn’t aware it was a one of a kind for the 100th running. Very very cool and very special to have this,” Rossi said.
Wednesday’s ceremony provided Rossi with an appetite to kiss the bricks once again.
“it gives you a burning desire to go do it again. You don’t want anyone else to go do it. There’s a big focus from the whole team to go back and defend it and we have a big job in front of us,” added Rossi.
