A local group hopes to save lives by raising awareness.
Christina Christ, the Executive Director of Team of Mercy, teaches a class called Youth Mental Health First Aid.
The goal is to teach the public the signs and symptoms of suicidal youth.
She says the class has received a positive response and those in attendance are engaged, and willing, to understand the youth of today.
“In the past several years, since I lost my daughter to suicide, I really have seen our community pull together and implement things in our community to help, and this is one of the great ways,” says Christ.
Thanks to a grant through Hamilton Center, the class will be free through July 2018.
