Vigo County election officials break for night; count to resume Wednesday morning

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) –Vigo County election officials decided to break for the night around 1 a.m. Wednesday with approximately 46% of ballots counted.

Two Vigo County sheriff’s deputies and a representative from each party will be stationed at the courthouse overnight to secure the ballots.

The count is expected to begin again at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Before Tuesday, nearly 35,000 early voters had already cast ballots.
