VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County Election Board has finalized its list of voting centers for the Nov. 3 General Election.
Once signed off on by the Indiana Election Commission, the voting centers will open in three phases.
Twenty eight days before the election, early voters would be able to cast ballots at the Vigo County Annex, Meadows Banquet Hall and the Haute City Center.
A week prior to the election, additional voting centers would open at the Vigo County Solid Waste Management facility, the West Vigo Elementary Conference Center, Operating Engineers Hall and the National Guard Armory.
In addition to the early voting centers, on Election Day, voting centers will be available at the Booker T. Washington Community Center, Vigo County Library, Boot City Opry, Maryland Community Church, American Legion Post 104, Indiana State University Student Union, the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, New Goshen Fire House (2), Pimento Firehouse and the Sandcut Fire House.
Early voting begins October 6 at Haute City Center, Meadows Shopping Center and the Vigo County Annex. These vote centers will be open beginning October 6, Monday through Friday, and two Saturdays, October 24 and October 31.
“We encourage every Vigo County eligible voter to partake in the general election. Collectively, these vote centers offer easy access to all corners of Vigo County,” Vigo County Clerk Brad Newman said. “In Vigo County, voting is made easy.”
Voters are encouraged to request an absentee ballot if they choose to not vote in-person. Registered voters must simply call the Vigo County Clerk’s Absentee Voting Office at 812-462-3235 or visit IndianaVoters.com to apply. By calling, voters will be sent an application via mail to fill out and send back. By visiting the website, voters will fill out the application online. All absentee ballot applications must be received by October 22 in order to vote by mail. Approved applicants will be sent a ballot via mail to fill out and submit to the Vigo County Clerk’s Office by noon on November 3.
