TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — After 30 years with the Terre Haute Fire Department, Chief Jeff Fisher is vying another leadership position within the community.
He officially threw his hat in the ring Thursday for Vigo County Commissioner in Dist. 3 on the Democrat ticket.
The Dist. 3 seat is currently held by Republican Commissioner Brad Anderson.
Fisher joined the Terre Haute Fire Department since 1989 and was appointed chief in February of 2008. He said he expects to remain with the department for the next year or so.
The first step in the commissioner’s race will be the primary elections in May of 2020.
