FARMERBSURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — WTWO is hosting a live 2023 Terre Haute Mayoral Debate from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 28.
The two candidates, incumbent Republican mayor Duke Bennett, and Democratic candidate Brandon Sakbun will be answering questions presented by debate moderators, WTWO’s Dana Winklepleck and Nicole Krasean.
Some of the questions asked of the candidates will come directly from viewer submissions. Topics range from the economy to housing, to quality of life initiatives within Terre Haute.
The debate will be formatted into three different segments and will include a post-analysis digital-only special with WTWO’s Mike Tank and Indiana State University Assistant Professor of Political Science Dr. Levi Allen.
Segment 1 | Economy and Infrastructure
Candidates debate Terre Haute’s economic future, infrastructure needs, and north side development.
Segment 2 | Collaborations and Housing
Candidates debate collaborative efforts and housing needs.
Segment 3 | Quality of Life and Leadership
Candidates debate quality of life initiatives and leadership priorities.
